We transcribe the dialogue and translate it into Chinese, English, Japanese, Korean, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Thai, Indonesian and Vietnamese.

70% revenue share

You earn 70% of the distributable payment value from unlocks and membership viewing. Limited-time offer: 90% until December 31, 2026 (UTC).

How earnings work

• You set the price of each episode, from 0 to 200 coins (0 means free). Episode 1 of every work must be free.
• When viewers spend coins to unlock an episode, watch early access or send you a tip, you get 70% of the distributable payment value behind that spend.
• Membership viewing: each month, 70% of membership revenue is shared among creators by qualified watch time.
• Distributable payment value = what the viewer actually paid, converted to US dollars, minus taxes collected on the sale and payment processing fees.
• During the limited-time offer (until December 31, 2026, UTC), both shares are 90%. From January 1, 2027 they return to 70%.
• You can see your earnings in Creator Studio at any time. OuToons does not promise any number of views or any level of income.

Getting paid

• Once your balance reaches US$20 you can request a payout. Payouts are usually processed within 5 business days.
• Get paid by PayPal, Wise, US bank account (ACH) or international wire (SWIFT). Fees for each method are listed in clause 6.10 of the Creator Agreement.
• Before your first payout, fill in a tax form online in Creator Studio (W-9 for US taxpayers, W-8BEN for individuals elsewhere).

Your work, your call

• Your licence covers only storing, transcoding, subtitling and streaming your work on the OuToons website and app. For promotion we use only your cover, title, synopsis and clips of up to 30 seconds.
• We never use your work to train AI models.
• You can take a work down at any time. Viewers who already bought episodes with coins can keep watching them for 90 days after the takedown.
• A work nobody has bought can be permanently deleted at any time. A work that has been bought can be deleted 90 days after it is taken down.
• You can choose countries or regions where your work is not shown.

Also in Creator Studio

• Views and retention for every work and every episode.
• Your own share link: post it on your socials or in your fan groups, and sign-ups and purchases that come through it are counted separately.
• Comments: read what viewers say, and report any comment you find inappropriate for our team to handle.
• Your videos are automatically encoded in 720p and 480p as well, so they play smoothly on slow connections.
• Before a work goes live, you can upload your own subtitle files to replace the automatic ones.

What we're looking for

• Original BL comic dramas you created yourself or hold the rights to. AI-assisted work is welcome, as long as your tools allow commercial use.
• Made for viewers 18 and over: romance, intimacy, conflict and dark themes are all welcome, but sexually explicit content is not. YouTube's Community Guidelines are a useful reference; our Content Guidelines are what we review against.
• Any character in an intimate scene must be clearly an adult.
• Video: each episode at least 60 seconds long and at least 720p, up to 5 GB per episode (MP4, WEBM, MOV or M4V).

Review

• Every new work and every new episode is reviewed. The first review is usually done within 48 hours, or up to 72 hours for large submissions or a second opinion.
• While new episodes are in review, your live episodes keep playing.
• If something isn't approved, we tell you why. Fix it and resubmit as many times as you need.

Get started in three steps

1. Sign up for an OuToons account (or use the one you have).
2. Open Creator Studio, then read and accept the Creator Agreement.
3. Create your work, upload episodes and submit them for review.
